Laurie Stegall represents people buying a home in her real estate practice and also performs estate planning service for clients as part of her longstanding legal practice. She has practiced law in Greensboro, North Carolina since 1993. A native of Greensboro, Laurie graduated with honors from Guilford College, with a BA in History.
She then went on to law school at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she was a member of the Dean’s List. While in law school, Laurie clerked for an insurance defense firm in Greensboro and for a general practitioner attorney in Burlington.
After receiving her Juris Doctor degree, she began practicing with a well-known insurance defense firm in Greensboro. After gaining valuable trial and worker’s compensation experience, Laurie left the insurance defense arena to begin a practice in the area of plaintiff’s personal injury and worker’s compensation. She represented hundreds of clients before the Industrial Commission and in civil litigation.
Laurie also practiced law in the area of residential real estate from 2000 to 2006. In 2006, she took a sabbatical from practicing law to focus on her family and newly adopted daughter. She returned to practicing law in 2009 with the firm of Oxner, Thomas and Permar, and then transitioned back into real estate when she joined Susan L. Hunt, PLLC in July, 2013.
In 2014, Laurie once again opened her own office and continues to practice in the areas of real estate and estate planning. Beginning January 1, 2017, Laurie’s associate, Brian Clifford, became a partner in the Stegall and Clifford firm. Laurie is a published author and member of the North Carolina Bar Association. She is admitted to practice in the Middle District of North Carolina’s Federal Court. She has coached Mock Trial teams for Northwest High School and Classical Conversations. Laurie lives in Summerfield with her husband, Chris.
